How we maintain the confidentiality of your records
We are committed to protecting your privacy and will only use information collected lawfully in accordance with the GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018 (which is overseen by the Information Commissioner’s Office), Human Rights Act, and the Common Law Duty of Confidentiality.
All of our staff and contractors receive appropriate and ongoing training to ensure they are aware of their personal responsibilities and have contractual obligations to uphold confidentiality, enforceable through disciplinary procedures.
Only a limited number of authorised staff have access to personal information where it is appropriate to their role and is strictly on a need-to-know basis.
We maintain our duty of confidentiality to you at all times. We will only ever use or pass on information about you if others involved in your care have a genuine need for it. We will not disclose your information to any third party without your permission unless there are exceptional circumstances (i.e. life or death situations), or where the law requires information to be passed on.

If you complete our contact form, we will gather general contact information so that we can respond to your queries. We will collect personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, organisation and any comments you include.

We use Google Analytics to monitor the use of our website. Google Analytics uses cookies to help analyse how people use our site. We collect your IP address and the pages your visit. Your rights as a data subject
As a data subject, you have several rights. You can:

- Require the organisation to change incorrect or incomplete data;

- Object to the processing of your data where Spirit is relying on its legitimate interests as the legal ground for processing.

Accessing your information
If you would like to access the information we hold on you, please write to AskEmpower@spirit-health.com and we can start the process, we will need to ask for some further information to confirm your identity. Your request will be dealt with in accordance with the UK Data Protection Act 2018 and GDPR guidance.
The Data Protection Officer (DPO)
Spirit Health have appointed a DPO. This is our Head of Governance – Lisa Wakeford. The role of the DPO is to assist data ‘Controllers’ and ‘Processors’ to comply with data protection law and avoid the risks that organisations face when processing personal data.
