Our Vision

Powering people-provided healthcare education across the world.

Digital technology and AI are evolving rapidly and are being used to support people to manage their health well. However, the key to our success is that we use real people to deliver our education and use tech to support this.

We give patients someone they can ask questions to, someone they can build rapport with and someone who understands.

Our mission

Our mission is to empower effective patient learning by training and accrediting healthcare educators to deliver our world-class healthcare education programmes.

We want more people to benefit from our fantastic diabetes education, and we’re making it our mission to make it happen.

Our story

We were born over 10 years ago when our parent company, Spirit Health Group, was working with the NHS in England providing high quality, low cost blood glucose meters to thousands of patients.

During the course of our work, we were speaking to many patients who were living with diabetes so we took the opportunity to do a small amount of training about their condition.

The NHS loved what we did so much, that they asked us to set up a full training programme for people who had been newly diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. So we created EMPOWER. Our courses have proved so successful that we now provide them to thousands of patients every year in the UK and increasingly, across the world.

What’s next?

You’ve joined us at at a pivotal time of growth – as we grow our international presence through our global partner programme. Our preferred partner scheme is designed to help other people have the same success we have had with the NHS, with whichever patient group they select.

We look forward to working with our partners and entering new territories and business sectors. It’s a fantastic time to be collaborating with our growing network of accredited educators – all of whom share our passion for delivering high-quality health education.
